Make this easy DIY Centerpiece Idea to use year round in your decor and tablescapes!

 

When you don’t have the right thing for your bright and sunny tablescape – make it yourself! This easy DIY centerpiece idea literally took minutes to make and now I can’t believe I didn’t do it sooner! I can think of lits of ways I will use this unique candle holder once this table setting is long gone!

You will need a few simple supplies to replicate this look, so here is a list for you to order online if you don’t have them already! 

DIY Centerpiece Supply List

Decorative fence picket or scrap wood ( you can get these at hardware stores or look for vintage pieces at flea markets and fairs.)

Paddle Drill Bit (make sure the size matches the type of candle you want to use in this piece)

To make a fun centerpiece you can layer or use in your home decor start with a decorative fence picket or scrap wood. The style I have is a gothic fence picket, but you can use anything! Paint it a fun color, distress it or stain it to match your style. You can cut this piece to fit your space too, small spot? Make it short!

WIth a tape measure mark a centerline down the length of the wood. Next measure equal distance between candle holes and mark them along the centerline.

Prop your wood piece on two small blocks so you can drill through the board without hitting the surface underneath. Using a paddle bit drill each candle hole all the way through the board. You may need to sand the edges of each hole if the wood splits around the drill area. It’s that simple!

I love how our sweet summer tablescape turned out with this new centerpiece addition. It always looks good to layer texture, height and color on  a table.

I think this touch of rustic charm and sweet little candles made a great pair with the bright lemons and stark black and white decor.
