French Country Kitchen Mood Board
We just bought a brand new builder house this summer when we moved. We relocated for my husband’s job and our house sold quickly (thank you God!). That was great, but we had to pick a new house pretty quick in return. We like our house, but really wanted to make some changes so we would LOVE it! The kitchen is the main makeover we are implementing. It may seem odd to renovate a new house, but we have moved enough to know it is SO MUCH BETTER to get things how you like them on the front end of owning a home than wait until it’s time to move or live for years wishing you would have just done it!

I LOVED the cabinets when we looked at this house and they are one of the reasons we bought it. The countertops just feel a little busy and I want a more sleek, neutral look. We chose Quartz in Calcatta Gold. We installed marble kitchen counters in our last home and while they were beautiful they did show wear and tear more than I like. Quartz is more durable and that was the deciding factor for us.
My husband is the cook in our family and he loves a gas range. Unfortunately, this house isn’t plumbed for gas and it would have been silly expensive to add it so he researched and chose an induction cooktop. We are so ready to use this!!! 
One thing we have grown spoiled about over the years is a super silent dishwasher. It’s a must-have in an open concept house. This is the exact one we got and we love it. 
To finish off the French Country kitchen I am striving for I selected these gorgeous wall tiles. They are glazed with a raised pattern and remind me of expensive French tiles without the price tag. I love the neutral color paired with lovely texture and movement. 
The cabinets got a little glam upgrade with heavy gold knobs and pulls. The square edges give them a more modern feel, but still a classic look. 
I am over the moon excited about the new kitchen faucet I found. It looks super expensive, is nice and heavy but has a wonderfully moderate price tag. It is going to be a showstopper on our island! 
I ended up going with a stainless steel sink because they are so durable and affordable. I did a cast iron sink in our last house and it stained and scratched SO MUCH. I ended up hating it. I couldn’t pull the trigger on one of the high-end sinks that would be scratch resistant so I went with a zero radius cornered sink that feels a little sleeker than the curvy one that came with the house. 
The kitchen is getting decorated with a thick comfy runner in a natural jute woven rug and the stools I found were cute and affordable. We are looking forward to having our kitchen remodeled, we know it will change the feel of our new house completely! Stay tuned, I can’t wait to show you!

Runner Rug 
I recently did my kitchen over.. I bought a cast iron sink by Koehler and it is my favorite thing in my kitchen. I have had it for several months now and I have never had to clean ANY scratches off it. It is deep and large. It cost a lot, a little over $800 but I think it was worth every penny. I had to buy stainless steel appliances and I really do hate them. They show everything. So it’s either a messy look in my kitchen or clean them everyday! I could not find white appliances or I would have bought them. Just my opinion.
I used to think I wanted stainless until I had to deal with constant daily smudges & cleaning in a rental. When we finally bought, the House was older & came with a white side by side probably from a remodel sometime in the past 10 years. I thought I’d hate it but I don’t. I’m definitely thinking we’ll sticking with white whenever we get around to remodeling.
yes – I agree the stainless gets smudgy esp with the little hands I have around the house, but I like it still.
I do NOT sell Norwex… but my stainless steel cloth from them cleans it so well with NOTHING but water.

We were introduced to induction cooking when we moved to Asia years ago and loved it.. We bought induction when we moved back to the states…great choice! Your kitchen will be stunning!
What kind of floor do you have (or what will the new floor look like)?
