Make Your Own Card for Peeps Sake!
I know, I know… in this day and age it’s so easy to run to your nearest Target and simply buy your favorite card. And don’t get me wrong, giving cards is becoming a lost art, so you’re still my people if you do that… but it’s SO easy to make your own card for peeps sake (you’ll see why I HAD to use this pun in a second)! Giving someone a card can make them feel so special and thought of, and making the card can be soothing and fun for you, so it’s a win-win! Let me show you how easy it really is!
supplies needed to make your own card
- cardstock
- peeps
- mod podge
- glitter
- watercolor pencils and/or paint (I used yellow and black, but you can use whatever peeps color you’d like)
- stamps (or you can write, I just LOVE these stamps– I’ll link them HERE)
- paper scoring tool (optional, since you CAN fold)
- paintbrush
let’s make this card for peeps sake!
- Fold your paper in half, like a card (I used the scoring tool for this, but once again you can fold it by hand as well).
- Trace your peeps (I did 3, but you can do whatever you want) and bring them to life with some color. I used my watercolor pencils because I love those things SO much, but you can use colored pencils, paint, whatever you want!
- Use the end of your small paintbrush to make the eyes and a nose. You could also use marker or sharpie for this step.
- THE BEST PART– take your stamp (I linked my favorite one above, I use it every chance I get) and create your message! Since this is an Easter card, I thought a sweet “Easter” pun would be FUN! So I stamped “for peeps sake.” I mean… does it get any cuter?
- And assuming your mailing this card, you can put a sweet little message inside. I put “I miss you” and just kept it really simple. Simple and sweet, yet says what I need it to.
- Afterwards, I decided some glitter will finish it off, almost like sugar! I used a brush to add mod podge to the peeps, and then sprinkled some glitter on top!
And that’s it!!! It’s super easy, something a little mindless you can do to enjoy yourself, and great to make with kids, for sure!!
Plus, whoever is on the receiving end of this one gets to feel extra special! A win-win!
