Tips to Transform Dollar Store Decor
I’m a dollar store fan for LIFE- and it’s not because I walk in and fall in love with everything they have. BUT, it is because they have some great base pieces for even better prices, and I can fix them up and make them my own. It’s budget-friendly AND easy to transform dollar store decor into elegant, beautiful pieces you’ll love for years to come. Let me give you some tips and examples!

I stumbled on this little mushroom at my local 99 cent store and so many ideas came to mind- not one of them being leaving this as-is. If you like it as is, that’s great, it’s just not my style!
I used the mushroom as an outline for my own little DIY and created a stuffed mushroom wall hanger from it! For 99 cents, it got me a stencil and I can use it over and over again for different projects!

The dollar store often offers seasonal tic-tac-toe boards and I absolutely ADORE them! I’ve done one with bunnies, one with bats, and now this cutie board with squirrels and acorns! Perfect for Fall!
Of course, nothing really special about it as-is, but a little paint and glitter, it’s cute as a button!

I stumbled upon these acorn ornaments that were too precious to pass up. I LOVE acorns! And I collect paper napkins all throughout the year as I see them… and come on- this one is adorable for Fall.
Instead of making these tiny acorns into ornaments like the package says, I made them into little napkin rings! Some mod podge, napkins, stain and jute were all it took to do the trick.
A little tip for this DIY specifically: make sure you pull apart the napkins so it’s just one ply left (the top layer with the pattern). If you leave them as-is (these were 3 ply), they won’t adhere as well and won’t look as good!
I think these napkin rings are so beautiful, and just my style!!
