We had an amazing time on our Mexico beach vacation last summer. The kids and I got sunkissed while combing through the sand for the tiniest seashells, hermit crabs and coral. Maybe you have a stash or seashells begging to be displayed too or a little jar of beach sand? For this first souvenir craft I made some simple seashell jewelry for my kiddos. These little glass jars, necklace cord where just a few bucks at the craft store. I’ve added a supply list at the bottom of this post if you just want to shop online for the exact items. Simply fill your little jars with tiny shells or even beach sand. I sealed them shut with a dab of super glue for safe keeping then used a slide knot to make an adjustable length necklace. The necklace I linked to below already has a clasp and I wish I would have used that one, but be sure the end of the necklace will fit through the eye hole of whatever bottle you choose! My most treasured things are nature things found on a special vacations whether it is wool I cut off a sheep in Scotland, a heart rock from Lake Tahoe, sea glass from Sicily, shells from Costa Rica, rocks from most everywhere, dried moss from forests, interesting driftwood, pressed flowers, photographs taken turned into art, etc, etc, Why spend money on things that lose their value…..instead, these become more meaningful through the years because I lovingly collected these “free” souveniers!
