It’s way past time I properly introduce you guys to Bryan, Texas. It’s where I live and do the most treasure hunting. Here is a list of some of my favorite places to shop in Bryan. Feel free to let me know if I missed a fun spot! Football season is upon us and this is a college town with team spirit, but you may not realize how many cool places there are to shop in Bryan. So if you are coming to visit your Aggie or just making a junkin’ road trip here are some spots to hunt! My kids wanted to spend an ENTIRE day in downtown Bryan and go to ALL the stores, it was actually a summer bucket list item they came up with on their own. While I wasn’t sure it would take all day (it actually did and then some) I was up for the challenge. I gave each kid five bucks and we parked on the South end of downtown to walk the old downtown streets of Bryan. Our first stop was Old Bryan Market Place. Housed in one of the most beautiful old buildings in downtown this is a must stop shop on your adventure. OBM is filled with gorgeous home décor and even if you don’t make a purchase, the styling alone will inspire you. The Attic:   A Gem for antiques, it’s been around forever and this is where I got and antique drafting table that came from the Texas A&M Architecture Department. Ok, we started late and ate early, but my kids love Mr. G’s Pizza, so we took a quick lunch break here, you could also try Rx Pizza across the street. Purple Turtle Art Studio/Frame Gallery: We had to stop by and say hi to one of our favorite ladies! Mrs. Le teaches art in her studio that she shares with Greta from The Frame Gallery. You can enroll in adult or children classes here and you are guaranteed to have a blast. Greta does fabulous work and has restored old picture pieces for me. We walked another block and took a right on 24th Street to N. Main Street.

On one corner is St.Vincent DePaul Resale shop, lots of small antiques and resale items plus a ton of resale clothing.Headed to visit the kids at Texas A&M University? Texas Rose Boutique:  more clothing and jewelry, but they have a cool well inside that is from way back when…the kids loved throwing pennies down it! Wondering where to shop in Aggieland? The Bird’s Nest: lots of décor items and is beautifully styled.

Brazos Cedar Works: has furniture, clothes, signs and more.

Market 1023 is a favorite of mine, full of farmhouse style and the latest trends the store also houses a few select vendor booths that are amazing. Earth Art: a collection of worldly and rare finds.

We loaded in the car and drove toward the north end of downtown (you could walk but we were hot!) where my secret junk shops are. I hesitate to reveal my sources, but here ya go!

Alice’s Attic: My go to junk spot, I rarely leave without a treasure of some sort. Most of these stores you need to frequent because inventory turns and you never know what you’ll find! We go back in the car and headed to a new shop a few blocks south of downtown Bryan town, Rabbit Hole. If you head south of downtown on Main street you will come to Si Quaeris, she has limited hours but will come if you call and is worth the stop to see. The Ugly Barn Used Furniture: has some flipped furniture and some untouched pieces you can buy and do yourself, she has a great selection. The best places to shop in Bryant, Texas. Second Chance II: a sister store to Alice’s Attic, full of donated treasures waiting to be found.

Bryan is the sister city to College Station and second home to Texas A&M University, we also house Blinn Junior College. There are tons of fun things to do and places to eat, plus the kindest people. It’s a free event full of live music, art, entertainment and good eats that spills out in the street of downtown.   3. We lived in Bryan for 17 years. Loved shopping in downtown Bryan. You named my favorites plus some new shops I’d love to visit someday. Also loved going to Brenham and the Round Top shows. Lots of opportunities to find treasures. We’re back in San Diego now near granddaughters. But few antique stores or events. Need to visit TX. Thanks for memories.
