Practicing stamping your letters on extra wood and then stamp the stir stick. Stain your wood AFTER you burn the letters in. If you stain first your stamp will get gunky.

You can clean it with iron cleaner if this happens. These wood burning stamps are so versatile, you can see a few other projects I’ve done with them here and here.

I also have a list of items you can personalize with a heat tool here. Have fun with this little craft – it will definitely get you thinking about all the cute things you can label!

  1. I love the plant markers. I just ordered a wood burner and the letters. I can hardly wait to get started!

  2. I am having a hard time figuring out what products you use…I am guessing I am just missing something. I am feeling kinda stupid about now…What paint besides A Makers Studio do you use for your projects and where do you get your wood stamps…also where besides AMS do you get your stencils…Thanks so much God Bless you

    1. HI! well – I use a ton of different products so I can see how it would be confusing! I love to try new products so I use a wide variety of brands, but only share the ones I end up likeing! The paint depends on the project, I use latex house pain a lot and love HGTV Home by Sherwin Williams at Lowe’s, I use acrylic craft paint a ton and usually use decoart products, but also love Modern Masters. For stain I usually use Minwax. Stencils I get all over, definitely A Makers Studio for the mesh stencils, but a wide variety or sources for regular stencils. I alwasy tell the source in a blog post tutorial so if there is something specific you are looking for, check the blog post or ask! Hope that helps

  3. I received my wood burner and alphabet on Saturday. I used it on a wooden cutting board that had been my father’s. I put bread on one side and meat in the other. Love it!
