Nobody can make you think a certain way, or let you feel one way or another. We have the power to control our thoughts and minds…I didn’t say it was easy, but it is something we can work on and control! And REMEMBERING that we are in control is the first step to actually TAKING control!! I made a little blank slate for you to decorate with and I am hopeful you will decide to paint some flowers on it. Of course, you can choose to paint weeds if you really want– it’s your call. In all honesty though, crafts like these, or moments to get creative, are really where I can let my mind calm and dive deeper into my thoughts. I think these moments are important so we CAN grow flowers, not weeds. We can reign in those negative thoughts or feelings and re-center. For you, that may not even be with crafting, maybe it’s cooking, or maybe it’s driving in the car.

And in case you are thinking, but I can’t paint flowers – I’ve got you covered friend! This is an easy way to get your feet wet in the whole painting arena. Honestly, these are some abstract kind of flowers that anyone can do. The best part is you can print this sheet over and over and try and try again until you get it just the way you want it. Just one of the many reasons I love paper crafting, it’s so affordable! Plus if you mess up, it’s no big loss! And keep in mind, it’s not necessarily about the end, it’s about the journey too! So simply enjoy yourself, and don’t take it too seriously!!

You can download the cute garden saying here and then have yourself a party – get creative! Print this phrase out on old dictionary pages, hymnal pages, scrapbook paper, or any other fun paper you can think of. I hope you’ll let me see your finished product, sharing flowers is just as fun as planting them! Your mind is a garden and your thoughts are the seeds. You can grow flowers or you can grow weeds. 1. Dearest Kim, I have been part of your “family” for quite some time. I am so grateful for your inspiring thoughts. I have nefer responded – at least I don’t think I have, but I am going through a rather quiet period right now and thought I would let you know how I appreciate your encouraging words.

My husband and I are retired clergy and “I’m old” but am always on the go. I do Aquafit twice a week and I’m a quilter, sewer. However, I had a very bad fall last week and have several fractures in my foot and you know what that means – even some setbacks since then. No pressure on the foot and quite challenged with this very challenged with this heavy boot up to my knee. My husband has dementia etc. My son lives in the basement apartment and I don’t know what I would do without him.

Don’t know why I’ve said all this, but just wanted you to know how much I appreciate your words of encouragement and your Christlike spirit.
