Hunt & Host Home Tour: Boy’s Bathroom

My boy’s bathroom. Usually a boy bathroom is not much to speak of. Let’s face it, young boys can be a mess. Mine are no exception, but I love their bathroom so much that I can walk through it and not get bothered by the towels on the floor and the missed toilet now and then. This outdated bathroom goes from fab floral to vintage sleek. This bathroom was at one time, long ago, the master bath. Therefore it is larger than most secondary bathrooms you would find in a 1951 ranch. One of the things that had me drooling when we originally walked through the house was the sink and bathtub in this bathroom. They were filthy dirty, but original to the house and so unique. I also adored the slanted built in cabinets that are in both of the kid’s bathrooms.

Once demo started we removed THREE layers if floral wallpaper. And a rat’s nest. Just being honest. The house was rough.

I wanted the tile and décor to be classic, up to date and not to trendy.

This sweet built in vanity spot would be so nice to do hair and makeup in. Since this bathroom sits nestled between my two boy’s bedrooms, I don’t think that will ever happen.

Overall it turned out light, bright and better than I could have imagined when we first walked through this mess of house!

  1. I love it. Especially the art behind the toilet. And wasn’t it nice of the other owners to put so much wallpaper on the walls? Generosity 🙂

  2. I love it! My favorite touch is the orange bicycle wheel! I’ve had this pinned for a while and I’m happy to report that you’ve inspired me to hang a wheel on my gallery wall. I’m even thinking about spray painting it red!

  3. What color paint did you use in your bathrooms. We have a Jack n Jill bath with the tub and shower with no windows. I’m looking for a color for the part of the bathroom to lighten it up.

    1. All the white color in my house is Pearly White by Sherwin Williams, it is a great soft color, not too stark, not to yellow or gray, it sort of just blends with whatever you pair it with. Hope this helps!
