Welcome to my neck of the woods…the laundry/craft room. This little room is a punch of color and joy in the landscape of our home. A new laundry & craft room gets built with vintage storage and décor. www.huntandhost.net

When we bought the house, the laundry room was right off the kitchen. We really wanted to open up and expand the kitchen so a relocate was in order. The best tip I can give you if you are remodeling is look to see where you can give up space. For us it was in a huge bedroom in the back of the house. This old ranch house had been through one remodel in the 7o’s and this room was the original master bedroom prior to that project. It was HUGE.

This is part of the large bedroom we broke up to make the laundry room. The window you see here is the window now in the laundry room below.

With a little tweaking we were able to carve out a nice size laundry space and still have a large bedroom for my youngest son.hunt and host home tour link up laundry

The black and white check floor is one of my favorite things about this room. It’s classic.hunt and host home tour link up laundry

We added built ins that house all my crafty junk. Thank goodness. It’s a lot. hunt and host home tour link up laundry

There was still a need for easy access to all the paint and things I use regularly. I found these vintage soda crates and put them to work.

It is so nice to be organized in at least one room of my house! The baskets were a find from Lowe’s.

I love having things in the open, so I don’t forget the goodies I collect. It helps me know what I have on hand for projects. Behind it is a gigantic bulletin board full of all the mommy love my kids give.hunt and host home tour link up laundry

You know the space for drawings and poems.

  1. That is definitely the big thing missing in my house…my laundry room is itty bitty and I definitely will make that a priority in next time. I love the idea of having the office/craft space in the same room.
