How Creative Community Helps You Grow Spiritually

And Why I Started Faith Fest

When I first stepped into the world of faith art journaling, I was hungry for inspiration. I wanted to learn from other Christian women who weren’t shy about weaving Scripture into their creativity. I wanted to see how they prayed, how they created, how they thought about God. But honestly? They were really hard to find.

I’d discover an artist I loved and think, “Yes! This is what I’ve been looking for.” Their style, their heart, the way they created, it lit something inside me. But I always wanted more. I wanted a space where Christian artists were openly sharing their faith, their process, and their hearts in a way that helped others grow too.

How creative Christian community can help you grow spiritually. Faith Fest Christian creative workshop with multiple artists teaching Bible journaling, faith art journaling, and mixed media techniques. Inspiration for prayer journals, scripture study, and beginner journaling ideas.

And one day I wondered: What if a group of faith-filled artists all responded to the exact same Bible verse?
Not a trend.
Not a single word prompt.
Not a technique.
Not a worldly theme.
Just Scripture, the living, breathing Word of God, as the center.

That question changed everything.

Why Creative Faith Community Matters

When I think back on how my own faith grew, so much of it didn’t happen alone. It happened in community, watching women practice their faith right in front of me. Praying together. Studying the Bible together. Hearing real people talk to God out loud.

I didn’t know how to pray like that.
I didn’t know how to show up like that.
I didn’t know what a lived-out faith looked like in the day-to-day.

But being in that Bible study, watching these women lift their voices, share their stories, and model their faith, changed me. It grew me. It shaped me. Their example literally raised me up.

And one day it hit me:
If community can grow your faith… it can grow your creativity too.
And if watching someone pray can transform how you pray, then watching someone create from Scripture can transform how you create with Scripture.

That’s When Faith Fest Was Born

I imagined a place where women could peek behind the curtain into another woman’s creative process, not to copy her, but to witness how Scripture comes alive in her heart.

A place where we could all start at the same spot, one shared Bible verse, and then watch how differently it blooms in each of us.

Because that’s what makes Faith Fest so powerful:

• Each artist brings her whole heart to one piece of Scripture.
• Each woman focuses on a different word, a different nuance, a different nudge from the Holy Spirit.
• Each lesson reveals how deeply personal, beautiful, and varied our walk with God can be.

And somehow, when you take in all twelve women’s perspectives… something inside you shifts too.

You see techniques you’ve never tried.
You hear faith reflections you’ve never considered.
You watch someone process Scripture in a way that opens a door in your own heart.

Faith Fest became more than a workshop.
It became spiritual formation wrapped in creativity.

Why This Format Works (Even If You’re New to Faith Art)

Everybody’s style is not your style.
Everybody’s process is not your process.

But here’s the miracle:
You can glean something from every single lesson.

Sometimes it’s a technique.
Sometimes it’s a fresh way of looking at the verse.
Sometimes it’s a moment of conviction or comfort.
Sometimes it’s a reminder that you’re not alone in your journey.

Whether you’ve
• never art journaled before
• done it for years
• or fall somewhere in between

Faith Fest gives you twelve different windows into how women engage Scripture creatively, and every window offers something meaningful.

I still find it fascinating to see how the same verse hits each teacher in such different ways. Where one person sees hope, another sees surrender. Where one hears invitation, another hears instruction. And watching all of those interpretations unfold on paper? It’s powerful. It’s moving. It’s faith-building.

And honestly, I think you’ll feel the same way.
