Hunt & Host Home Tour: Vintage Sports Boy’s Bedroom

I can’t wait to share my youngest son’s room with you. A few things about this part of the house…I cleaned up, but by no means are these rooms “magazine ready”. I wanted to show what we really live like, minus a little clutter. 😉 Given the fact that I love to decorate, I really want each child’s room to be their own and express who they are. Like I have said before, I think it is important that everyone in the family feels at home in some space in the house. So, the kid’s rooms are real, they are decorated, but chock full of their personalities.A vintage sports bedroom that a little boy can gracefully grow into! www.huntandhost.net

This room was the original master bedroom a few renovations back. It was LARGE! When deciding where to relocate the laundry room, this room had the most space to give. I was debating making it a huge bedroom for the boys to share, which they would have loved, but opted to make it smaller and have a larger laundry room.

The funny thing about my youngest is he has never really played with baby or even toddler toys. He has been to busy chasing after his older brother and copying all that he does to even stop and do all the things normal kids his age do. Therefore, he has never had a ton of toys in his room. Well, he has but they never got played with! He is extremely sports minded and prefers to be outside, sans shirt with some sort of ball in hand. Hence the “theme” of his room.

I was going for something he could gracefully grow into.

All the pictures you see here are from surrounding small towns and dated back to the early 1900’s through the 40’s. This would also be fun if you took your old team photos and transferred them to black and white for an aged and unified effect.

Thrifted to Décor. Being chosen. This grey metal typewriter table makes the perfect nightstand and is a reminder that we are seen. www.huntandhost.net

I recently added this nightstand I found on a visit to Tishimingo, OK to stay at Miranda Lambert’s B&B.

I’d love for you to check out more of the house here. So glad you stopped by for a visit!

  1. I love it, especially the missing drawer you turned into a bookshelf! I tried to link up a project from my boys’ room, but I’m getting stuck at “loading inlinks.” Any advice?
