Romantic Valentine’s Day Table

This girl loves a theme. For my Valentine’s Day decorations I wanted to create a romantic picnic theme. Something bold yet dreamy, bringing a touch of the outdoors in. I think the dining room turned out perfect! 

The chandelier got a huge makeover with small branches and stems I cut out of nature. Free, easy and impactful.

For the soft and fringe-y chandelier hanging I ripped up sheets and sheer cheesecloth then tied them to a frame from an old lampshade. Then I hung soft dried grasses and mixed in a few dollar store hearts I made over. (you can see how I made them in the videos links at the bottom of this post.)

For the place-mats I used dollar store wrapping paper, cut in small swaths for a touch of whimsy.

Then the layers. It’s always about the layers. A touch of vintage brings inexpensive decor to a different level. Silver trays as charges. Christmas clearance buffalo check melamine plates.

And then sweet little heart nameplates. Another dollar store transformation idea. They started off like this.

Scatter some hearts from the dollar store for color. Don’t they look like little pebbles you’d find out on a walk? Add a few more branches and you are almost home.

I glued dollar store florals onto the branches for a sweet whisper of romance.
