I decided to get some nice stain grade wood and use it as a bottom plate and a lid for this table. I cut the wood a little larger than the box and then routered the edges for a clean finish. *Can I side bar here and tell you how hard I thought this would be!? And how amazingly talented at woodworking you needed to be to do something like router. It sounds all kinds of fancy. Girl – it’s so easy. I attached these amazing hairpin legs I snagged by Crates & Pallet to the bottom stained wood piece. They are heavy, sturdy legs you can EASILY add to just about anything to create a table, chair, etc. They come in a variety of heights so you can make the perfect piece to fit your needs. You can find them on the Home Depot website and in the Spring of 2020 you can find Crates & Pallets gorgeous shelf brackets in The Home Depot! For the lid I secured small wood rails on the underside of the top piece to keep the lid in place. I love that this table doubles as hidden storage!   2. VERY clever and CUTE! I don’t use power tools but I could imagine being able to put those cute hairpin legs on something I found that needed a new life. They seem to be, as they say, “trending” these days. A throw-back to the MCM look, I expect.
