30 Creative Things to Write on Tags
I’ve always loved adding tags to my journals. There’s just something about the shape, the little reinforcement circle, the way they slide into pockets or peek out from the edges. They add texture, interest, and a bit of mystery to a page. But I’ll be honest, there have been times I’ve sat there holding a beautiful tag thinking, now what? What do I actually put on this thing?

If you’ve ever wondered the same thing, you’re not alone. Tags are one of those fun elements that look amazing, but sometimes we overthink them. So I put together a list of ideas to help you fill your tags with meaning, creativity, and personality. Think of this list as permission to play. Tags don’t have to be perfect. They can be simple, expressive, messy, heartfelt, or purely decorative. They’re tiny little canvases, and you get to decide what they hold. Also – you can leave them blank, they can be cute as is!

Here are 30 ideas to get you started. Plus grab a free download: Tag Idea Booklet, that has this list plus more fun tag making ideas! Sign up at the bottom of this blog post.

Tags are tiny prompts that remind us that meaning doesn’t have to be big to matter. When you tuck them into your journal, they become breadcrumbs of the life you’re living — the funny, the reflective, the spiritual, the sentimental, and everything in between. Keep them tucked in pockets, clip them to the page, layer them into clusters, or let them stick out the top like little tabs of meaning.
