My boy's bathroom. Usually a boy bathroom is not much to speak of. Let's face it, young boys can be a mess. Mine are no exception, but I love their bathroom so much that I can walk through it and not get bothered by the towels on the floor and the missed toilet now and then. This bathroom was at one time, long ago, the master bath. Therefore it is larger than most secondary bathrooms you would find in a 1951 ranch. One of the things that had me drooling when we originally walked ... continue reading...

Grandaddy’s Cucumber Salad
I hope you will go along with me over the next few weeks as I reminisce about my grandparents, their home on the Outer Banks of North Carolina and ask for your prayers as I prepare for a few upcoming events. This summer my family has been blessed to have an extended vacation in North Carolina. It has been nothing short of wonderful. We have played, relaxed, explored and just enjoyed a slower pace of life. Therefore, you will likely see glimmers of our vacay on the blog! Like... these amazing ... continue reading...
Hunt & Host Home Tour: Vintage Sports Boy’s Bedroom
I can't wait to share my youngest son's room with you. A few things about this part of the house...I cleaned up, but by no means are these rooms "magazine ready". I wanted to show what we really live like, minus a little clutter. ;) Given the fact that I love to decorate, I really want each child's room to be their own and express who they are. Like I have said before, I think it is important that everyone in the family feels at home in some space in the house. So, the kid's rooms are real, they ... continue reading...
French Country Home Tour
Have you ever moved to a new city? A place where you really didn't know anyone? Maybe you are in the midst of getting settled right now. Let me introduce you to my friend. We met in a completely untraditional way and an unexpected friendship formed eight years ago. I was new to town, didn't know more than a handful of people, had two toddlers and a new company with my husband. I needed friends. I actually called on this sweet lady for work. She was the head of her neighborhood HOA and was ... continue reading...
Hunt & Host Home Tour: Laundry Room/Craft Room
Welcome to my neck of the woods...the laundry/craft room. This little room is a punch of color and joy in the landscape of our home. When we bought the house, the laundry room was right off the kitchen. We really wanted to open up and expand the kitchen so a relocate was in order. The best tip I can give you if you are remodeling is look to see where you can give up space. For us it was in a huge bedroom in the back of the house. This old ranch house had been through one remodel in the 7o's ... continue reading...
Mother Daughter Summer Project
My oldest child is my only girl. She loves to bake, paint, act and do puzzles. She is whitty, adores playing in the mud and turns obnoxiously golden tan in the summer. Obviously I think she is so stinkin' cute. She loves to take pictures, especially since she got my mom's old IPhone. Which is not used as a phone but for all the fun games, taking pictures and some texting. I was completely unprepared for this season to begin. Times are different now. It isn't like when I hogged up the ... continue reading...
Hunt & Host Home Tour: Den
Today I am bringing you through the den. We have moved a lot over the years. Like 9 times (if you count the two temporary stints in an apartment in between houses) in our almost 15 years of marriage! One thing I have always had on my radar since having children is two living areas. It is so nice to have separate spaces if possible. I like the kids to have a place they can gather together, that is their own. Why? Not because I don't want to hang with my kids. We spend many an evening cuddled ... continue reading...
